Immediately following the race, the First Citizens Parade will roll into the streets of Five Points with amusing and entertaining floats and bands.

The application deadline for paricipation in the parade has been extended to March 1, 2008.
Course
The parade will travel from Dreher High School down Devine Street, crossing over Harden Street in Five Points. The processional will proceed to Saluda Avenue, where it will take a sharp right turn and continue up Saluda Avenue to the Five Points Fountain. The parade will then turn right on Green Street and make a left turn into the south bound lane of Harden Street, ending in front of the Food Lion.

Judging
A panel of judges will be looking out for creativity, Irish flair and the crowds reaction. An awards ceremony will follow the parade at 12:30 p.m. in MLK park at the stage in the Wachovia Children's Carnival area. |
